Voters Still Unhappy With Congress (Especially Republicans)

The charts above reflect the results of the newest Economist / YouGov Poll -- done between May 5th and 7th of a national sample of 1,168 registered voters, with a 2.9 point margin of error.

It shows that the voting public still has a very low opinion of Congress. Only 16% approve of how Congress is doing its job, while 63% disapprove. And they aren't enamored of the job either party is doing. But the Republicans bear more of the blame than Democrats.

About 42% have a favorable view of congressional Democrats Democrats, while only 30% have a favorable view of the Republicans -- a gap of 12 points. About 65% say they have an unfavorable opinion of Republicans, while 54% have an unfavorable opinion of Democrats -- a gap of 11 points.
