6 Out Of 10 Say Abortion Should Be Legal In All/Most Cases
This chart reflects the results of a recent ABC News / Washington Post Poll -- done between June 28th and July 1st of a national sample of 1,008 adults, with a 3.5 point margin of error.
It shows the Republicans might be making a serious mistake with their current attempts to outlaw all abortions. The American public (60% of them) don't want that to happen. They believe abortion should be legal in all (27%) or most (33%) cases. In addition, 73% don't want abortion harder to access for those who want it -- with 32% wanting easier access and 41% wanting access to stay as it currently is.
The current Republican efforts may be popular with their base, but it will only convince most Americans that they should not vote for the GOP.
