Liberal SC Justices More Popular Than Conservative Justices
These charts reflect the results of the latest Economist / YouGov Poll -- done between June 30th and July 2nd of a national sample of 1,265 registered voters, and has a 2.8 point margin of error.
The poll asked voters their opinion of the nine Supreme Court Justices (favorable or unfavorable). The four liberal justices had the highest net favorable rating (favorable minus unfavorable), with Ruth Bader Ginsburg being the most popular justice of all. She had a net favorable rating of +18, followed by Sonia Sotomayor at +16, Elena Kagan at +13, and Stephen Breyer at +10.
The most unpopular justice was Brett Kavanaugh at -8. He was the only justice to receive a negative net rating. The other four conservatives were John Roberts +5, Samuel Alito +4, Clarence Thomas +1, and Neil Gorsuch +1.
