GOP Senate Approves Of Trump's Lawless Behavior
This chart reflects the results of the latest Economist / YouGov Poll -- done between February 2nd and 4th of a national sample of 1,500 adults (including 1,277 registered voters). The margin of error for adults is 3.1 points, and for registered voters is 2.9 points.
There were no surprises as the Senate vote on whether Donald Trump was guilty or not guilty of the two articles of impeachment lodged against him.
All 45 Democrats and the two Independents voted guilty on both articles. Mitt Romney voted guilty on Article I and not guilty on Article II. The other 52 Republicans voted not guilty on both articles.
The only question left is how this is going to affect the election in November. Will the voters punish Republican senators and vote Trump out of office -- or will they let it slide? I think the Republicans will pay a price for their votes on impeachment.
