Support For "Medicare for All" Edges Up To 55%
These charts reflect the results of the latest Politico / Morning Consult Poll -- done between March 27th and 29th of a national sample of 1,997 registered voters, with a margin of error of 2 points.
They show that support for a Medicare for All government insurance system has edged up -- probably due to the seriousness of the Coronavirus epidemic. Last month the support was 51%. It is now 55%.
That's probably not enough for Congress to pass such a system -- even if Democrats control both the House and Senate. Only about 30% strongly support such a system. We should be able to create a public option and use it to cover all citizens though (assuming Democrats control Congress), and that would be a big step towards an eventual Medicare for All system.
