Confidence In U.S. Ability To Control COVID-19 Dropping

The chart above reflects the results of the latest Monmouth University Poll -- done between April 30th and May 4th of a national sample of 808 adults, with a 3.5 point margin of error.

It shows that Americans are losing confidence in the ability of the federal government to limit the impact of the Coronavirus in the "next few weeks". In March, about 62% said they were confident. By April, that had dropped to 53%. In this latest poll, it's 50% (with the other 50% saying they no longer have confidence).

It is becoming evident to the public that the federal government has mishandled the response to the pandemic, and they continue to do so.
