COVID-19 Deaths & Cases Rise In Texas As It Reopens

On May 1st, Governor Abbott ended the stay-at-home orders and mask requirement throughout the state. And he also allowed businesses to reopen. But he did it before the number of cases and deaths had even begun to flatten (as recommended).

The charts above show the number of deaths from the Coronavirus (top) and cases (bottom). Note that both continue to rise sharply. Now that the state is reopening, that is likely to continue -- and may even get worse.

The numbers above are from The COVID Tracking Project.
