This chart uses figures from a new report by The Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation. The report says that the number of deaths that can be attributed to COVID-19 is much higher than what has actually been reported (sometimes intentionally and sometimes unintentionally). For Instance, the reported death toll in the United States is about 575,000, but the real death toll is about 905,000. And every nation is guilty of an undercount, according to the IHME.
