The nation had its 267th and 268th mass shootings this weekend.
In the Sixth Street area of Austin, 14 people were shot on Friday night. So far, there were no fatalities, although two of the 14 are still in critical condition.
On the same night, one person was killed and eight wounded (including a 2 year-old and a 13 year-old) in Savannah, Georgia.
The year is not even half over, and it looks like the nation may break last year's record of 610 mass shootings.
Meanwhile Congress does nothing. They can't even agree to plug the holes in the background check law (which 80% to 90% of the public supports).
Does Congress even care about the safety and lives of American citizens? Is the right of any nut to have a gun really more important than protecting Americans from gun violence?
That seems to be what congressional Republicans have decided!
