Most Believe Global Warming Is Real (& Caused By Humans)

The chart above reflects the results of the newest Economist / YouGov Poll -- done between July 3rd and 6th of a national sample of 1,500 adults (including 1,281 registered voters). The margin of error for adults is 2.8 points -- and for registered voters is 2.9 points.

It shows that 61% of adults (and registered voters) believe global warming (global climate change) is happening, and is caused by human activity (the overuse of fossil fuels). Only 30% say it is not caused by human activity, and only 9% say it not not happening.

Unfortunately, our government is not doing much to stop or mitigate the global climate change. The congressional Republicans have, at least so far, been able to block legislation that would address the crisis. They are playing to their base (where only 32% say climate change is happening die to human activity). They also think protecting corporate profits is more important that saving the climate and environment.

This puts the GOP against the wishes of the majority again. Hopefully, that will be enough to get them out of power in 2022. We don't have much time left before it's too late to stop or even mitigate the dangers of global climate change.
