The charts above reflect the results of the recent Yahoo News / YouGov Poll -- done between June 22nd and 24th of a national sample of 1,592 adults. The margin of error would be about 3 points.
These results might surprise some people, and certainly won't make Republican officials very happy. The GOP officials have been playing the race card with lies about critical race theory. But that theory (developed to be a college level elective course) is not taught in any public school in this country.
However, the public overwhelmingly supports teaching students in school about the history of slavery in the U.S., and about the history of racism in the U.S. That's good, because we must teach the truth -- not the white version of history.
Note also, that most American recognize the existence of systemic racism is this country (and in policing).
