U.S. Is On Track For A Record Year Of Gun Violence

According to the Gun Violence Archive, as of 7/7/21 (only one week into the second half of the year), the United States has had 339 mass shootings and 22,668 gun deaths. This puts the nation on track to break last year's records of 611 mass shootings and 43,557 gun deaths.

Poll after poll has shown that a substantial majority of Americans want stricter gun laws and about 90% want ALL gun buyers to be required to have a background check. But Congress is still doing NOTHING, and it is not likely to do anything this year. That's because the Republicans (who are owned by the gun manufacturers) are blocking all attempts to save American lives.
