The charts above are from a Gallup Poll -- done between November 9th and December 2nd of a nationwide sample of 1,020 adults, with a 4 point margin of error.
It shows that 57% of American adults believe that the federal government has the responsibility to make sure that all Americans have health care coverage.
That does not mean that a majority wants a government-run system (like Medicare For All). About 53% say they would still like the system to be based on private insurance.
Most still haven't realized that a government-run system would be cheaper, because it would cut out the profits for the middle men (private insurance companies).
