A few days ago, Democrats on the House Oversight and Accountability Committee asked the Republicans on the committee to join them in signing a pledge to oppose "white nationalism and white supremacy". All 26 Republicans on the committee refused to do so.
This is shocking. One would think that all of our elected officials would oppose hate -- would support equal rights and opportunities for ALL Americans.
When it comes to hate, there is no middle ground. You either support the haters or you oppose them -- and silence only supports the hate. Silence means you don't oppose the hate.
What excuse did the Republicans give for refusing to oppose white supremacy? They said it was a distraction from the Biden's administration's border policy. That's one of the most pathetic excuses I've ever heard. Are they unable to walk and chew gum at the same time. Why couldn't they both oppose white supremacy and Biden's border policy? Of course they could!
These 26 Republicans are white supremacists. Their action defines them as such. They are haters who want whites to retain all power, and nonwhites to be second-class citizens.
