Hunter Says He'll Testify In Public - Why Won't GOP Let Him?

Yesterday, a House committee met to vote on recommending Hunter Biden be declared to be in contempt of Congress. They are claiming he refused to honor a congressional subpoena to appear and testify. But the congressional Republicans (who subpoenaed him) are being disingenuous. He has not refused to testify before Congress.

Hunter Biden has said he would be happy to testify before the committee -- if it could be done in public. That's not good enough for the GOP. They want his testimony to be done in secret. One has to wonder why it has to be in secret.

Are they afraid Hunter's honest answers will expose their investigation as baseless? Are they afraid the public will be upset about their loaded questions and baseless innuendo? Maybe it's because in a public hearing they couldn't twist his answers to fit their own narrative (as they've done in the past).

Hunter doesn't trust the congressional Republicans, and I don't blame him. He knows they will lie to the public about what was said in secret. And he knows the only way to prevent that is to have an open hearing. Let the public hear every question and every answer, and make up their own minds about his guilt or innocence.

If the Republicans oppose that, it could only be for nefarious reasons. They have claimed to be for transparency in government. It's time for them to prove that. Stop the political games and question Hunter in an open forum.
