Voters See Democratic Issues As Better But Are Unhappy With Congressional Dems

The charts above reflect the results of the Quinnipiac University Poll -- done between July 10th and 14th of a nationwide sample of 1,290 registered voters, with a 2.7 point margin of error.

These results may look a little strange to you. Voters see the Democrats as being better for the poor, the working class, and the middle class, while they see Republicans as being best for the rich. And yet, voters currently have a very low opinion of how congressional Democrats are doing their job.

Why? I believe it is because they don't see the congressional Democrats as fighters. Whether true or not, they think the Democrats have not done a good enough job in blocking Donald Trump's terrible agenda - an agenda that has caused prices to continue to rise (due to his crazy tariffs) and will soon kick millions off Medicaid (and cause Affordable Care Act insurance rates to rise by about 15%) - after he promised to do neither.

When Republicans were in the minority, they fought everything Democrats tried to do. They blocked a Supreme Court justice pick, and used every nasty trick in the book (from filibusters to parliamentary delaying tactics) to obstruct Democratic efforts.

But voters don't perceive Democrats as having done the same. That must change. Congressional Democrats must use the same hardball tactics as Republicans did - even if it means shutting down the government. They must convince voters that they will use every trick in the book to fight for them.

If they do, it could be a massive blue wave for them in the 2028 election. If they don't, we could be looking at an even worse last two years of Trump's term.

It's time for the Democrats to get nasty!
