Donald Trump once said he could shoot someone on Fifth Avenue and his supporters wouldn't abandon him. That has been largely true. No matter what he does or says, they have convinced themselves it was for the best.
This has been especially true with his many lies. MAGA has convinced themselves that his outrageous lies are all true.
They believed him when he said the 2020 election had been stolen from him.
They believed him when he said the January rioters were just peaceful and patriotic people visiting Congress.
They believed him when he said Mexico would pay for the border wall.
They believed him when he said tariffs were necessary and would be paid by foreign countries.
They believed him when he said huge tax cuts for the rich and corporations would benefit everyone.
They believed him when he said ICE would be going after only criminal immigrants.
They even believed him when he said he would cut prices if re-elected.
There seemed to be no limit to the lies MAGA would believe if it came out of the fevered brain of Donald Trump. But he has now uttered a lie that even MAGA can't believe.
He said that prices are lower now than they were during Biden's term in office. They are not. And no one needs the media or economists to tell them that. They see it every day, as the price of nearly everything has risen (and continues to rise. Groceries, electricity, electronics, health insurance, autos, rent, home prices, and nearly everything else costs more than they did last year.
And MAGA is not immune to this inflation. It's hitting their bank accounts just like everyone else's. He can claim prices are lower, but when paying their bills even MAGA can see it is not true!
Trump has finally told a lie that even his most ardent supporters can't believe!
