Do These GOP Candidates Now Regret These Pictures ?

The man in these pictures with Republicans presidential hopefuls (Bush, Cruz, Huckabee, Jindal, Paul, Perry, Santorum, and Walker) is Josh Duggar. At the time, Duggar (along with his parents and siblings) was the star of the TV "reality" show 19 And Counting, and the executive director of the christian hate group Family Research Council. The candidates were obviously trying to score points with christian bigots.

Duggar was flying high for a while there, but an expose by intouchweekly.com has ended that. They revealed that Duggar was guilty of molesting several children (including some of his siblings) a few years ago -- and they had the proof to prove their allegation. Allegations that his "christian" parents helped to cover up.

The parents said they had sent him to a facility so he could receive counseling to overcome his "problem". That was a lie. They actually sent him to stay with a friend of the family out of town, and he received no counseling at all. They also said they reported his criminal behavior to the police, but they did that only after being sure the statute of limitation on his crimes had expired. In other words, they made sure he got no negative action because of his molesting children.

Duggar has now confessed his crimes to People Magazine. And he has resigned his position with the Family Research Council. He is trying to pass off his crimes as something in his past, which has been now magically cured through prayer. I have to wonder though -- can child molesters really be cured through nothing but prayer?

I also wonder if the presidential hopefuls pictured above with Duggar regret having their picture taken with him -- a self-confessed child molester. At least one doesn't -- Mike Huckabee. Huckabee said Duggar made a mistake, and has been forgiven. I beg to disagree -- it wasn't a mistake, but a criminal acts (and repeated several times).

Will any of the other candidates be willing to make a statement about Duggar, or these pictures. I doubt it. I think they'll just remain silent (and be thankful they weren't the only one to make this mistake).

UPDATE -- Ted Cruz has now spoken -- and proved that he is not just a fool, but a dangerous fool. He would have us believe that consensual and loving acts between gays are worse than molesting children (a crime). We must make sure this idiot never lives in the White House.

Pervert Is Caught By His Wife

You've probably seen the NBC show Perverted Justice. It's where some adults pretend to be children on the internet to trap some perverts into revealing themselves. Then when they show up to have sex with the young targets, they are humiliated and arrested. The same sort of thing happened in Great Britain -- with an unusual and very funny twist.

The pervert is 68 year-old David Roberts (pictured), a retired former pub owner. Roberts like to cruise internet chat rooms in search of young girls. He thought he's struck gold when a 14 year-old girl chatted with him and seemed to be interested in his advances. He performed some lewd acts for her on the internet, and then arranged to meet her to have sex.

There was just one problem. The 14 year-old girl wasn't 14 at all. In fact, it was his 61 year-old wife. She had become suspicious of him, and got on the internet to see what he was really doing. All the time he thought he was talking to a 14 year-old, he was actually chatting with his wife who was on a different computer in the next room.

After he performed the lewd acts and arranged to meet her for sex, she reported him to the police. It was several weeks before he knew he had been talking to and turned in by his own wife. Needless to say, they have now separated.

Roberts was arrested, and they also found some child pornography on his computer. He was given a three year community order (which we in America would call probation) and was banned from contacting anyone under 18, either in person or on the computer. He's lucky. If he'd been arrested here in the States, he'd be going to prison just for the child pornography on his computer, let alone the rest of it.

I just love the fact that he was caught and reported by his own wife. That has to be the ultimate humiliation. And I doubt it will help him in divorce court either. I don't know how British divorce courts work, but I hope she's able to clean him out. He deserves it.

Collin County D.A. Releases Child Molesters

This story is pretty hard to believe. Last year, the Murphy Police Department arrested 23 child molesters in conjunction with NBC Dateline and a citizens group called Perverted Justice. The police had the internet records where these perverts arranged to meet for sex with Perverted Justice operatives they thought were underage children. They also had VIDEO TAPE of the perverts actually showing up at the house where they believed underage children lived.

Now in Texas, the internet transcripts alone are enough to convict the perverts. The tapes are just icing on the cake. With this kind of evidence, you'd think that these molesters would be going to prison for a while -- where they belong. But not in Collin County!

Collin County (Texas) prosecutors have dismissed the charges against all 23 child molesters. Prosecutors all over the country have had no trouble at all prosecuting these cases, but the Collin County DA's office says they didn't have enough evidence.

Are they really trying to tell us that internet transcripts, video tapes, and police and civilian witnesses aren't enough to put these perverts away?

First, the DA's office tried to say they didn't have juristiction because the computers or servers needed to be located in Collin County. But that argument doesn't fly. All of the internet conversations went through a server located in Collin County, giving them all the juristiction they need.

Then they tried to say that Perverted Justice wouldn't give them evidence or testify. Perverted Justice founder Xavier Von Erck says they were never asked for more evidence, and would have been happy to testify if asked. He said, "We've gone from questioning the competency of the Collin County Prosecutor's Office to questioning their sanity."

As most people know, child molesters are highly likely to re-offend. When any or all of these 23 commit a new crime against children, the blame will have to be shared by the Collin County District Attorney's Office.

Sounds like the good people of Collin County need to elect a new District Attorney. They need one that will put molesters in prison -- not release them.
