Rattlesnake Booze

I've heard of Tequila with a worm in the bottle, but this story makes that look pretty tame. A Palo Pinto County man was making booze with a little bite -- rattlesnake vodka!

Last Thursday, agents from the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) raided Bayou Bob's Brazos River Rattlesnake Ranch, and found 411 bottles of illegal booze. But this wasn't just any illegal booze. Each of the bottles of vodka contained a 10-inch rattlesnake.

Bayou Bob (Bob Popplewell) will be charged with Sale of Alcohol Without a Permit and Possession of Alcohol With Intent To Sell. He could receive a year in jail and a $1000 fine.

Popplewell has been known to ship thousands of turtles to Asia, and it is believed he may have been planning to do the same with the rattlesnake booze. It is fairly common there to find alcohol with snakes, scorpions, etc.

Yuk! I can't imagine actually drinking this stuff!
