When Rep. Brown made the above statement the other day on the floor of the Michigan State House, she was banned from speaking again. The Republican leadership in the House said her language was inappropriate. That's just stupid! Vagina is NOT a dirty word -- unless your mind is already in the gutter (in which case, anything would sound dirty). The truth is that she made an intelligent and cogent point -- and since they had no argument to refute it, they tried to shut her up. But all they accomplished was to expose their misogynistic idiocy to the entire country (and make sure her statement was heard by millions of Americans across the country). It's kind of like trying to ban a book -- which just makes sure the book will be a best-seller.
