Obamacare Saves Consumers Money
One of the silliest lies the Republicans tell about the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) is that it will raise the cost of health care for Americans. Not so. While I don't think it does enough to lower medical costs, one thing has become clear -- it is reducing the premiums for health care insurance. This year many Americans got a refund on their insurance premiums because the insurance companies had not met their burden of paying at least 80% of those premiums toward real medical care. And we have already seen that insurance premiums in many states are being reduced for next year (for example, premiums will drop as much as 50% in New York). Obamacare is actually saving consumers money.
