One of the most important states for any Republican hoping to become president is Florida. If a GOP candidate loses Florida, it becomes extremely difficult to reach the magic number of 270 electoral college votes (since it would take several other smaller states to make up for the loss of those 29 electoral votes).
That's why this new Quinnipiac University Poll should be a real stomach-churner for the Republican Party. The survey was taken between April 23rd and 28th of 1,413 registered Florida voters, and has a margin of error of 2.5 points. Note that Hillary Clinton leads all the Republican hopefuls by at least 8 points (and most of them by much more). None of those match ups are within the poll's margin of error.
Jeb Bush (who was formerly the governor of Florida) comes the closest with only that 8 point gap, and all the other have a gap of double-digits (even Florida's senator -- Marco Rubio).
There's still a long time until that election, and anything can always happen in politics, but the Republicans have a lot of work to do if they expect to beat Hillary in Florida.
