Shaheen Holds Double-Digit Lead In New Hampshire

The primary hasn't been held yet in New Hampshire, so we don't know yet who will officially oppose incumbent Democratic Senator Jeanne Shaheen. But according to the latest WMUR Granite State Poll (taken between June 19th and July 1st of 669 randomly selected New Hampshire voters, with a margin of error of 3.8 points), it probably won't matter who the GOP voters choose. Shaheen leads all the GOP hopefuls by double-digits (and currently enjoys higher than 50% voters support).

This has to be disappointing for the Republicans. This was a state they had hoped to flip, and imported a carpetbagger to do it (Scott Brown from Massachusetts). Brown does do slightly better than the other two GOP hopefuls, but he still trails Shaheen by 12 points (52% to 40%). The other two trail by 24 and 23 points.

The chart below shows a demographic breakdown of the race between Brown and Shaheen.
