Aren't All levels Of Education Extremely Important Today ?

As someone who believes that education (at all levels) is extremely important in this modern world, both for individuals and our country as a whole, I was a bit surprised at the numbers on this chart. Note that all of these groups have majorities that consider elementary school, middle school, and high school to be extremely important -- but the same is not true for preschool or for college. Only the Democrats have significant majorities saying preschool and college are extremely important.

Preschool is important because it prepares a student for elementary school -- and a student that is not prepared for elementary school can easily fall behind, with some never catching up and eventually dropping out of school before graduating high school. And college is necessary to allow individuals to work their way up the economic ladder, and allow this nation to maintain its position in the world.

This tells me I want Democrats to be in charge of education in this country -- because they are the ones that want to make sure all students are prepared before entering elementary school, and want to make sure that all qualified individuals that want to do so are able to afford to go to college.
