Early Voting Figures For Texas
The early voting numbers and percentages provided here are only for the largest 15 counties in Texas -- but that's where most of the state's population is, and it is indicative of what happened in the state as a whole.
Note that the figures are just about where they were in 2010 (slightly behind). Were these the same kind of voters that voted early in 2010? Does this mean that we'll have about the same number & percentage of voters as in 2010? We won't know that until the votes are counted tonight -- but I think the Democrats were hoping for a significant increase in early voting, and that just did not happen.
The two charts below show the total turnout for previous elections. You can compare them with the early voting charts above and make your own predictions. All numbers are from the website of the Texas Secretary of State.
