I have always thought that Barbara Jordan didn't get enough coverage. She was a wise and wonderful thinker and human being. I miss her as I miss Molly Ivins.
I wonder, even today, if a black, gay, woman could be elected President, but in her heyday I would have voted for her any time she ran. Miss her is almost an understatement. When we criticize the Texas of Cruz, Abbott, the Bushes, and Louie Lunatic, we should remember it also gave us Molly, Barbara, and Janis -- among many others.
