Another Poll Shows Clinton With A Post-Convention Bump

This chart shows the results from the latest CBS News Poll -- done between July 29th and 31st of a random national sample of 1,131 registered voters, with a margin of error of 3 points. It is the third poll released since the end of the Democratic convention, and like the others, it shows Clinton got a nice bump in the polls from a great convention. This poll shows a bump of 4 points, giving her a current advantage of 7 points over Trump.

The latest Gallup Poll asked a different question, trying to gauge what the public thought of the two political conventions. Their study was done of a random national sample of 2,000 adults -- with 1,000 being questioned after each of the conventions. There is a margin of error of 4 points.

The chart below shows the results. Note that the Democratic convention had a larger percentage saying they were more likely to vote for Clinton (45%) than the Republican convention produced for people more likely to vote for Trump (36%) -- a 9 point difference.
