Support For Roe vs. Wade Reaches A Record High

Donald Trump promised his supporters that he would nominate a Supreme Court Justice that would overturn the Roe vs. Wade Supreme Court decision (which allowed women to choose an abortion in the first trimester). He has now picked two justices -- Neil Gorsuch is already sitting on the court, and Brett Kavanaugh is waiting for Senate confirmation (which he will probably get). It's entirely possible that these two men will provide a majority to overturn Roe vs. Wade.

But that would be against the wishes of a significant majority of Americans. A new poll shows that a record high number of Americans say they do NOT want the decision overturned. About 23% are in favor of overturning Roe vs. Wade, but about 71% do not want that. That's a whopping 48 point gap!

The NBC News / Wall Street Journal Poll was done between July 15th and 18th of a national sample of 900 registered voters, and has a margin of error of 3.3 points.
