Texas Voters Support Roe Vs. Wade (And Legal Abortion)

This may surprise some of you. Although Texas is still a very red state, and most Republicans oppose abortion (and Roe vs Wade, the Supreme Court decision that allows legal abortion), it turns out that most Texans disagree.

About 62% of Texas voters say they agree with the court's decision in Roe vs. Wade, while only 30% say they disagree with it. That's a whopping 32 point margin! And when asked if the decision was up to the states, what should Texas do -- 60% said abortion should be legal in all or most cases, while 34% said it should be illegal in all or most cases. That's a healthy 26 point margin.

The charts above represent the results of a new Quinnipiac University Poll -- done between July 26th and 31st of a sample of 1,118 Texas voters, with a margin of error of 3.5 points.
