Public Doesn't Support Wall, Shutdown, Or Emergency
The charts above use information contained in a new Washington Post / ABC News Poll -- done between January 8th and 11th of a national sample of 788 adults, with a 4.5 point margin of error.
It mirrors what other recent polls have shown. A majority of the public does not want Trump's border wall to be built. A majority of the public blames Trump and the Republicans for the government shutdown. And a huge majority of the public does not want Trump to declare a national emergency to build his wall.
Trump may be pleasing right-wing pundits and his racist/xenophobic base with his recent actions, but he is working against the wishes of most Americans.
