Biden Leads In Iowa, But Harris Gains Support

The chart above reflects the results of a new USA Today / Suffolk University Poll -- done between June 28th and July 1st of 500 likely Democratic caucus participants, and has a margin of error of 4.4 points.

It shows Joe Biden is still in the lead with 24% -- the same percentage he had in early June. The debate neither helped nor hurt him in Iowa.

The real winner after the debate was Kamala Harris. She had registered only 7% support in Iowa before the debate (putting her in fifth place). But after the debate she now has jumped up to second place with 16%. Closely Trailing her is Elizabeth Warren with 13% (which is within the margin of error of her pre-debate numbers).

The real losers were Bernie Sanders, who dropped 7 points (from 16% to 9%), moving from second to fourth place -- and Pete Buttigieg, who dropped 9 points (from 14% to 5%), moving him from fourth to fifth place.
