Millennials (With Generation Z) Could Control The Election

The Charts above are from the Pew Research Center. They show that the generation with the largest population is now the Millennials. In 2019, they passed the Baby Boomers in size. There are 71.6 million Baby Boomers (age 55 to 73) to 72.1 million Millennials (age 23 to 38). It marks the first time in decades that the Baby Boomers have not been the largest generation.

That means the Millennials, along with Generation Z (under 23), could control the 2020 election. Unfortunately, that is not likely to happen. Why? Because older Americans vote in much larger percentages than younger Americans do. That has been true for many years. People over 55 vote in larger percentages (meaning larger numbers) than voters under 40.

I hope I'm wrong. If young voters turn out to vote in large numbers, it would mean Trump could not be re-elected. If they turn out only in numbers like in the past, then it could be a close election.

The political football is being passed to Mellennials. Will they Catch it and score, or will they drop it?
