Democratic Party Affiliation Is Growing As The GOP Shrinks
The chart above is from the Gallup Poll. They questioned 2,051 U.S. adults in June of this year, and their poll had a 3 point margin of error. It shows the public is turning toward the Democratic Party.
In January of this year, those affiliated with or leaning toward the Republican Party outnumbered those affiliated with or leaning toward the Democratic Party by 2 points (Republicans/leaners 47% to Democrats/leaners 45%). That began to change in February, and by March the Democratic Party had a 2 point edge (Democrats 45% to Republicans 43%).
By June that Democratic Party advantage had grown to 11 points (Democrats 50% to Republicans 39%).
