It's just a fact that, except for the true believers in the MAGA cult, the more you know about Donald Trump and his actions/policies the less you like him. That made him more popular with low information voters in the last election than with voters who kept up with the news and current events.
In the 2024 election, Trump led among the low information voters by 11 points - a sizable margin. But even the low information voters know what they are paying for groceries and nearly everything else these days, and it's significantly more than they were paying last year. And even voters who don't regularly watch the news can't avoid knowing what a mess Trump has made in deporting immigrants.
Currently, Trump is trailing among the low information voters by 13 points. That's a whopping 24 point turn around. That's bad news for Trump and his Republican cohorts. These are voters they were counting on in the 2026 elections, and it looks like they can no longer count on them.
