I went into Election Days with high hopes and a pragmatic view. I expected the Democrats to flip the House of Representatives, and hoped they could also take the Senate.
I did not expect the massive blue wave that swept across the nation. But I love it.
The Democrats did not just flip the House. They took it over easily. As it stands right now, the Democrats will have a minimum of 250 seats in the House - far above the 218 seats that were needed. And it could be even more .
And Democrats will have at least 54 seats in the Senate. There are still two races uncalled - Mississippi and Alaska. It is just possible they will take one or both of those seats - giving them 55 or 56 Senate seats.
Donald Trump is already trying to dodge blame for the bloodbath suffered by the Republican Party, but that won't work. The truth is that he is primarily responsible for it. He promised lower prices, and then instituted tariffs and a war that made inflation even worse. He promised to deport the worst of the worst immigrants, but then began attacking families and those with no criminal record. He promised to stay out of war, but is currently in the midst of a forever war (with no exit strategy). He promised to drain the swamp, but is responsible for massive corruption.
There is no doubt that the massive blue wave was a rejection of Trump and his agenda (and the Republicans who supported it).
