Majority Of Democrats Say Clinton Won Second Debate
The chart above reflects the opinion of Democrats on the second debate of the Democratic candidates.
The CBS News Poll was done after Saturday's debate of 674 voters who are Democrats or Democratic leaners, and has a margin of error of 4 points.
The Public Policy Polling survey was done after Saturday's debate of 510 Democratic voters, and has a margin of error of 4.3 points.
Supporters of Bernie Sanders had hoped that the debates would propel their candidate into a real contention for the Democratic nomination. But the first debate did not do that. It actually helped Hillary Clinton to extend her lead. And neither did the second debate, even though Sanders made it a point to attack Clinton in that debate.
Clinton proved very capable of defending herself against his attacks -- and Democrats seemed to like that. Note that a majority of Democrats, by a large margin in both polls, think Clinton won the second debate.
