Black Americans Hopeful For Change After Recent Protests
The chart above is from The Washington Post, and reflects the results of a new Washington Post / Ipsos Poll -- done between June 9th and 14th of 1,153 Black Americans, with a 4 point margin of error.
Black Americans have been buoyed by the support of White Americans during the recent protests across the country after the murder of George Floyd by police. About 59% think that this support from Whites will make a difference in the fight against systemic racism. And 54% believe that the treatment of Blacks by police will improve in the coming years.
I hope they are right. Racism (both overt and systemic) have been a blight on this country for far too long!
