To bring you up to speed on the history of this "barb," here's a link to the post that started it all. I address the Palins' separations in the very last comment.
The question is not whether their marriage has experienced long separations. My stepdaughter and her husband were separated for a year - he was on his second tour in Iraq - and they're doing just fine, thank you very much.
What's at issue is a blog post from August 1, 2009 by a self-styled "photojournalist" and "stringer" of questionable credibility, named Dennis Zaki, claiming unequivocally that Todd and Sarah Palin's divorce was imminent.
This is not a matter of opinion, like Ms. Palin's credentials or intelligence, or the possible reasons for the couple's lengthy separations. If someone is getting a divorce, documents have to be filed in a court of law. Where's the paperwork?
It's the same as Jason Leopold's bold announcement in 2006 that Karl Rove will be indicted. Not that he might be indicted, not that he should be indicted, but that he will be indicted (see my comment about this from the earlier post I linked to).
Rove Indictment Watch: Day 1,284.
There are more than enough verifiable things about Sarah Palin to keep the Left occupied for years. Why make stuff up? Or give credibility to those who do? (To his credit, Ted framed the divorce issue as a possibility, not as the gospel truth - Sorry, Ted, I couldn't resist!)
Until such time as the marriage between Todd and Sarah Palin is dissolved, I'll continue to post my Palin Divorce Watches.
Besides, Ted has already told me he'd be disappointed if I didn't.
I couldn't care less about her marriage. Like you said, there are enough other verifiable "things" (read: lies) to keep us all occupied. I understand that it's easy to attack other people's relationships from the outside. I also understand that it's very easy to make financial arrangements and make it appear as if one is happily married. For my part, it's just a general feeling that I'll be completely and thoroughly unsurprised if this particular evangelical couple should ever really separate or divorce.
ANONYMOUS COMMENTS WILL NOT BE PUBLISHED. And neither will racist, homophobic, or misogynistic comments. I do not mind if you disagree, but make your case in a decent manner.
Triple digits! Palin Divorce Watch: Day 107
ReplyDeleteShe's publicly said now that they live apart for months at a time, so you might back to take it down a notch with your 'barb' there.
