I couldn't agree more. We don't have a truly left-wing party in America. We have the far-right Republicans and the moderately-right Democrats. The Green Party tried to fill the void, but too many progressives still think they can move the Democrats to the left, so it failed. I would like to see a left-wing party in the U.S. so people can really have a choice, but I doubt I'll see it in my lifetime.

This reminds of a line from the 1960's British comedy revue "Beyond the Fringe," explaining American politics (I'm paraphrasing):
