  1. Well, it took me almost an hour, but I finally found where you posted an earlier iteration of this chart:

    On February 5, 2010

I stand by my comments from back then.

Jobsanger, if you were intellectually honest, you'd post a chart that includes the increase in the national debt in 2009 and 2010 under a Democratic White House and Congress.

According to your chart, when Bush left office, the national debt was over $10 trillion.

It's now over $13.3 trillion and still climbing. Where's that on your chart?

  2. You know why. Obama inherited a Bush-created recession and has to try and stimulate job creation. If he needs to increase it further to do this then he should. Job creation will reduce the deficit more than tax cuts for the rich.

Remember, while Bush was cutting taxes for the rich and spending his way into this recession, he only created less than 1/20 the jobs that Clinton created while reducing the deficit and creating a surplus.

The Republican record is bad enough without trying to blame Obama for problems created by Bush.

  3. As I mentioned back in February, I'm sympathetic to the terrible economy that Obama inherited.

But the question is: At what point will the state of the economy be Obama's responsibility?
