Most corporations do not *need* subsidies but if they can be bought cheap from crooked pols then they would be derelict in their duty not get them. In other words, if a $100k to a Senator gets you $10m contract - what's not to like?
What's not to like is political corruption. Besides, all of these corporations whine that their own subsidy is needed -- not just wanted. Does your statement mean you agree they are LYING to get their hands on taxpayer money?
Yes, of course they are, or at least, you must always work on the assumption that they are. However, let us not confuse the political and crooked cause, and the corporation effect. This is not a party political matter because both sides take back-handers in one form or another. And who pays in the end? You do, sucker!
