Joe Biden needed a big win in the South Carolina Democratic primary -- and he got it. In a field of seven candidates, he got nearly half of the votes. That means he'll get the lion's share of South Carolina's 54 delegates.
With 99% of the vote counted, here's how each candidate stood:
Biden..........255,666 (48.5%)
Sanders..........105,031 (19.9%)
Steyer..........59,814 (11.3%)
Buttigieg..........43,398 (8.2%)
Warren..........37,250 (7.1%)
Klobuchar..........16,588 (3.1%)
Gabbard..........6,740 (1.3%)
NOTE -- Tom Steyer has suspended his presidential campaign after not winning any delegates in the first four states. He had spent millions of dollars in South Carolina, and needed to win some delegates there. Steyer told his supporters that he no longer sees a path to winning the nomination.
