The actions of many self-professed christians show they never read the Bible (or understood it).   From the excellent blog of Yellowdog Granny.

  1. Sad but true, in many cases. Sad, because "the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God" has certainly enriched my life.

I've personally read the Bible through at least twice, and I'm currently trying to teach myself Koine Greek so I'll be able to better understand the nuances of the Book of Books (New Testament, at least).

If I'm successful at learning New Testament Greek, I might try to tackle Biblical Hebrew. A German gentleman I knew from the church I attended in my youth started learning Hebrew in his early 90's. Something to look forward to, should I be blessed with that many years!

And I certainly wouldn't stop by this blog on a regular basis if my faith were totally blind. I welcome intelligent questioning of my faith, something I find here (occasionally!).

But are Christians the only ones who "scroll to the bottom and click 'I agree'"? Ted, you've claimed that evolution is a "fact," yet I've never seen you discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the work of Michael Behe, William Dembski and others who use scientific evidence to propose alternative explanations.

Likewise, you claim that anyone who questions man-made global warming is essentially nuts, but have you ever looked into the work of scientists like Danish astrophysicist Henrik Svensmark?

I think we all can afford to scroll a little more slowly before clicking on those "I Agree" buttons in life.
