Humanism

  1. 1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
    2. A robot must obey the orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
    3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Laws.

    Can you imagine what our world would look like if we used the basics of these laws and used the word human instead of robot? The second law could read "A human must obey laws enacted by...".

  2. Well-Banana-as he has shown in many of his stories, following the laws blindly or more exactly roboticaly, causes some fairly humorous results. But I agree that the ten suggestions are mostly frivolous and these three would probably make better sense. I have always admired the 3 times declared satanic anti-christ.
    In the same mold his friend, Heinlein, also had a similar simple law
    ....to harm another human is the only sin, harming yourself is not sinful just plain stupid.
