Ignorance

17 comments:

  1. The title you gave the nonsense printed above is "Ignorance". Alas, you readers will be equally ignorant concerning the Federal government deploying snipers and helicopters against a Nevada cattle farmer and his family who have grazed Federal land for 140 years. Why? Because the senior Senator for Nevada, the man who leads your democrat-controlled Senate is, via his son, up to his wallet in a huge mega-deal with the Chinese to install several 'zillion' solar panels which, natch!, will earn the Reid family several 'zillion' dollars. And did your precious MSM report this story? Nah! It came out via an internet news agency.

For God's sake wake up! You country is moving inexorably towards South America and all that that stands for!

  2. The poor "cattle farmer" you defend is a thief, who has been stealing from the people of this country for decades. Court after court has determined this. He's lucky he's not in a federal prison.

You are right, however, that this country is becoming more like a banana republic every day -- but it is the right-wing Republicans who are doing it. They have slanted our economy to favor the rich and destroy the middle class -- leaving only the very rich and the poor.

  3. So that entails the use of snipers and helicopters?

And nothing to say about Harry Reid and his family in cahoots with the Chinese to cream off zillions of *your* taxes in subsidies? And you talk about thieves!

  4. You are obviously getting your "information" from a right-wing fantasy site. Senator Reid is not in "cahoots" with China. And if there are helicopters and snipers, they are there to protect federal employees from the crazy, thieving, "cattle farmer".

  5. reading all this, i have to wonder, what does any of this have to do with the statement made by neil degrasse tyson and the ignorance he spoke of? moving as far off subject as this has gone is no more than trying to change a subject to make a statement rather that address the subject at hand. why not speak to the subject presented?

  6. But I did address the subject of this post which is titled "Ignorance" and I merely wished to point out that you appeared to be ignorant of the fact that your government - apart from gun-running to Mexican cartels who then shoot dead an American policeman, and apart from your government flatly denying extra security for your Benghazi outpost which then resulted in four Americans being butchered, and apart from your government using the IRS to target political opponents and then pleading the Fifth to avoid answering your elected representatives - deploys snipers and helicopters against a single American family who have farmed their land for 140 years, and that this was done at the behest of a senior Democrat Senator whose family is involved with a Chinese company - and all Chinese companies act on the orders of their government - who want the farmer's land to install solar panels.

I assume from your complacency that you are all quite comfortable with that. So be it but please, pretty please, don't start waving your flag and talking about America being the Land of the Free. As I see it you're heading towards Venezuela! Now what was that old poem, ah yes, 'First they came for the farmers . . . ', something like that anyway. Interesting that one of my American readers complained bitterly that the first he read of this outrage was on my blog! So much for your 'free' press!

    1. bull crap, what you've done is made an outright attempt to hi-jack another mans blog in order to present your own agenda.

now, you appear to be addressing me (brian) as i was the one who said that you were off topic. and you claim that " I merely wished to point out that you appeared to be ignorant of the fact" with your previous statement before i had ever made a comment at all. you need to get your mclaughlins straight when addressing them.

the subject of this blogpost "Ignorance" was directed toward the schools and teaching being done in a new jersey school by one of their teachers. if you had read neil degrasse tyson's statement you could or should have understood it's limited scope. if you have a problem staying within the scope of the subject, you really need to keep your soapbox preaching at home. be an adult, address the subject at hand or stay out of the discussion. hi-jacking another mans blog is the act of a child.

  7. That's the biggest pack of lies and half-truths you've tried to spread on this blog.
    1. The guns to cartels program was stupid -- I'll give you that. You fail to mention though, that these programs were started under the Bush administration.
    2. Benghazi wasn't protected enough because your precious Republicans cut $300 million from embassy security.
    3. The IRS didn't target any "political opponents". They investigated groups on both the right and left, as is their job.
    4. Reid is not in "cahoots" with the Chinese.
    5. That "cattle farmer" is being punished because he refused to pay for letting his cattle graze on land belonging to the American people. That's theft.
    6. No one wants to take the farmer's land to put up solar panels. I don't know where you got that crazy story (and don't want to know).
    7. Why is it an outrage to expect someone to pay for using land that doesn't belong to them?

  8. And Brian is right. You are way off topic.

  9. Like many conspiracy theorists and fundies they have to lie and go off subject cuz they do not have science or facts on their side and Dave seems to be both and incapable of being on subject.

  10. No, BRIAN, I was addressing YOU and you did accuse me of being off topic in the very first sentence of your comment immediately above my response.

And it is obvious from you and your brother's remarks that you were both totally ignorant of the Bundy case and what has been described as Sen. Reid's "crony capitalism". Please don't bother to thank me for alleviating your ignorance, it's the least I can do!

    To assist you further: http://www.infowars.com/flashback-sen-reid-breaks-ground-for-nevada-solar-farm-near-bundy-ranch/

And none of you seem to have anything to say about your government deploying snipers and helicopters against a single family. Incidentally, they were forced to retreat by a spontaneous peaceful demo of defiance by friends and neighbours - America at its very best. You can watch the whole thing here:

One final point. Yes, I tend to the political libertarian Right in that I consider governments - ALL governments - to be a potential enemy as Bush proved with his mad financial policies. You, on the other hand, appear to suffer with the delusion that if it's called 'Democrat' it must be all right, to which I can only respond with that famous and very wise American saying, "Never give a sucker and even break!"

And Brian, you will produce a hundred lines by end of school for failing to use capital letters! That Cormac McCarthy has much to answer for - even if he is a brilliant writer.

  11. I am amazed at how you right-wingers are happy to go to bat for a rich criminal -- a thief that has stolen a huge sum from the people of this country. But you want to crucify a poor person that steals a little. Admit it -- thievery is thievery, whether it is a dollar stolen or a million dollars (or cattle grazing rights). Your "cattle farmer" is a criminal, and I hope to see him in prison -- for a long time.

  12. OK, OK, today its the Bundy family, tomorrow - who knows, maybe the McLaughlins will need to be, er, scrutinised by the Feds! Good luck with that one!

  13. Anyone who steals hundreds of thousands of dollars from the people of the United States should be under the scrutiny of government law enforcement -- whether their name is Bundy, Smith, Jones, McLaughlin, or anything else.

Are you accusing me of being a thief?

  14. turns out the law that requires cliven bundy to pay these fees was enacted by president reagan.

oh, by the way david as much as i would welcome ted as a brother, we have no known relative that connects us. careful with your assumptions.

  15. Heh! Those McLaughlins are everywhere - they'll be taking over the world next!
