Today is the day our nation has chosen to honor Martin Luther King, Jr. with a holiday in his honor -- and it is appropriate that we do this. Dr. King didn't just fight against racism, but also against war and for economic justice. He fought to make this country better for citizens of all races and colors, and it cost him his life. The kind of courage this remarkable man displayed should be a beacon for the rest of us -- and he should be honored, respected, and never forgotten.
