Trump Enters Convention Week With 35% Job Approval

The chart above is from the AP / NORC Poll -- done between August 17th and 19th of a national sample of 1,075 adults, with a 4.1 point margin of error.

The Republican convention is this week, where Donald Trump is to be nominated for a second term. But he needs that convention to give him a big boost, because his approval is very low -- as low as it has ever been. His overall job approval is at a negative 30 points (35% approval to 65% disapproval).

And that's not all. The economy is supposed to be his strong point, but he also has negative approval for that also -- negative 5 points (47% approval to 52% disapproval).

Other areas are much worse. His approval for foreign policy is 36% approval to 62% disapproval. For  his handling of the Coronavirus it is 31% approval to 68% disapproval. And for health care it is 36% approval to 62% disapproval.

Those are NOT the kind of numbers that get a politician re-elected.
