The charts above are from the newest Public Religion Research Institute survey -- done between September 16th and 29th of a national sample of 2,508 adults, with a 2.1 point margin of error.
It shows, as other polls have shown, that Republicans are out-of-step with what most Americans want for the country. While most Americans think the U.S. has made progress, most Republicans would like to take the country back to the 1950's.
